Yes. Our most of our pottery classes in Poole are designed for people with no prior experience. You’ll learn the fundamentals of wheel throwing in a supportive, small-group environment with step-by-step guidance from an experienced ceramics tutor.

Our pottery classes typically range from £60 for a taster session to £90 for a multi-week course. Prices include clay, glazing, firing, and use of studio equipment. Please visit our Courses page (https://www.tradpots.com/workshops)to see how much each type of course costs.

Our taster class lasts an hour - we don't want you feeling too overwhelmed with all the learning. The longest course is the half day class which will be around 3 hours. Multi-week courses usually run once a week for 4–6 weeks to allow time for skill development and firing. These are 2 hour sessions each week.

Yes. After your pieces are dried, glazed, and kiln-fired, you’ll be able to collect your finished pottery from our Poole studio. Firing typically takes 2–4 weeks. Note you will be charged by the weight of your finished items.

Our pottery studio is located in The Courtyard Centre, Lytchett Minster, with easy access from Corfe Mullen, Wimborne, Sturminster Marshall, Poole and elsewhere across Dorset. Free parking is available onsite.

We don't currently offer private 1-1 bookings. However, we do offer private group bookings. In fact we encourage it with our Special Occasion course.(https://www.tradpots.com/service-page/special-occasions-pottery-course?referral=service_list_widget) This course is designed for up 16 people (for a completely private lesson you need at least a group of 8 people). Whether you are celebrating a birthday, a Hen do, or just looking for something fun to do with your friends, this is a perfect course.

We recommend comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting a little messy. Aprons are provided, but wheel throwing can involve splashes of clay and water.

We keep our pottery classes small (typically 4–8 students) to ensure personalised tuition and plenty of time on the wheel.
